What is your business about?

Diverse Accountants services neurodivergent client base with their accounting & tax. I offer a space and judgement free space for clients who have had not so great experiences elsewhere. ADHD Money is a neurodivergent financial education business which helps ND people manage their money better and learn financial literacy.,

Please describe your life before starting

I was working for accounting firms and not really enjoying it. I loved the work but I was not yet diagnosed and found it hard to be the typical accountant I was expected to be. I decided to start my own business and haven’t looked back!

What made you decide to take the leap and start your own business?

I had people ask me to help them with their accounting and tax, but I couldn’t as I wasn’t working in practice at the time (I was working as an in-house accountant for a business). I decided that I’d been asked so often that it made sense to follow the demand and fill a gap in the market.

How would you describe your life now, as a solopreneur?

I feel so in alignment and I love being able to work how I want and with the clients I want. I’m able to be with my kids more often and I love the creativity of entrepreneurship too.

How has your ADHD played a positive role in your business life?

I’m able to relate to and understand my clients on a deeper level that other people may not. It has also helped me by being able to think outside the box, take risks and be resilient.

What's your top tip for other ADHD women aspiring to be solopreneurs?

Find support with other ADHD business owners. People to ask questions to, bounce ideas off and just generally chat to when things get hard.
