What is your business about?

Luz Trauma Therapy specializes in providing virtual EMDR therapy tailored for women and the Latine community. Our approach emphasizes strengths and resilience, particularly in addressing anxiety, trauma, and ADHD.

Please describe your life before starting

Before establishing my practice, I struggled within the confines of traditional 9-5 jobs. Despite receiving positive feedback, I found myself losing interest due to feeling stifled by organizational expectations and limitations. Recognizing how my ADHD symptoms were being triggered in these environments led me to seek a more fulfilling path as a business owner.

What made you decide to take the leap and start your own business?

The desire to be an entrepreneur has been ingrained in me since childhood. Once I met the educational and licensing requirements, I knew it was time to launch my own business and fulfill that lifelong dream.

How would you describe your life now, as a solopreneur?

I find myself more fulfilled, challenged, and energized. While there are certainly challenges, I am actively learning to seek and accept support as I navigate this journey.

How has your ADHD played a positive role in your business life?

My ADHD has fostered creativity and empathy in both my role as a psychotherapist and as a business owner. Embracing new ideas and approaches comes naturally to me, and my ability to recognize patterns has proven invaluable in my clinical work.

What's your top tip for other ADHD women aspiring to be solopreneurs?

To get to know yourself as best as you can. Learn about ADHD, identify your strengths, and assess where you may need support.
