What is your business about?

Marketing agency that specializes in affordable content creation and social media management for women and black owned businesses.

Please describe your life before starting

Working at a boutique marketing agency doing marketing campaigns for Fortune 500 companies that didn’t actually care about DEI. I said I can do all this work myself and make an actual impact that matters; so I started my own agency last February!

What made you decide to take the leap and start your own business?

My boss was terrible, the reps from the corporate teams were horrid and did not care about the actual quality of work they were approving and shoving up the pipeline. I knew I could continue doing what I loved which was helping minority customers get information and access to businesses but with a much larger impact that wasn’t so profit driven.

How would you describe your life now, as a solopreneur?

I work 24/7 lol and I love it. I get to choose who I work when, when I get to work and what kind of work I get to do. I’m living the dream truly. I’m creating systems to help manage my tasks more efficiently to take some of the negative sides of being a solopreneur off my shoulders.

How has your ADHD played a positive role in your business life?

I’m so multi faceted and use that to excel creatively. I can always think outside the box and alchemize an idea into something magnificent. I can think ahead of what my clients are verbally saying to me in conversation and it helps continue to position me as a thought leader throughout the conversation.,

What's your top tip for other ADHD women aspiring to be solopreneurs?

Give yourself grace! Grace to forget things, to have lots of different ideas, to struggle with sitting down to work, fighting to get started on the task. The list goes on and on, GRACE. You’re human. And you’re doing great.
